Count down to what you're looking forward to
Enter a date and a name, and this page shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining. Save several events at once, display any of them in fullscreen, and copy a link to share a countdown with someone else.
How to create a countdown
- Type an event name.
- Choose the date and time.
- Press Add countdown. It is saved in this browser.
- Use the share link to send it to others, or Fullscreen to display it.
Or start from a ready-made one: Christmas, New Year, Halloween, Valentine's Day or your birthday.
How time zones work with countdowns
Countdowns use the local time of whoever is viewing them. A shared countdown to midnight on New Year's Eve reaches zero at midnight wherever each person is, not at the same moment worldwide. This is usually what people expect for holidays. For a global event such as a product launch, choose the time in your zone and tell people which zone you mean. The time zone converter helps with that.
To count the days between any two dates, use the date calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Is the countdown saved?
Yes. Events you add are saved in your browser's local storage on this device. Share links work anywhere, and they let others save a copy.
Is anyone else able to see my events?
Only if you share the link. Events are not uploaded. The event name and date are part of the link itself, so treat the link as you would the details.
What happens when it reaches zero?
The display shows that the event has arrived. Popular yearly events automatically move on to next year's date the day after.
