Four date calculations in one place

Find the number of days between two dates, add or subtract days from a date, work out an exact age, or count the working days in a period. Results update as you type.

How to use it

  1. Choose a calculation at the top.
  2. Enter the dates, plus a number of days if you are adding or subtracting.
  3. Read the results in days, weeks, months, and years, months and days.

Examples

  • Days between: from January 1 to March 1 is 59 days, or 60 in a leap year.
  • Add days: a 30-day notice period starting on March 10 ends on April 9.
  • Age: someone born on February 29, 2000 was exactly 27 years and 1 day old on March 1, 2027.
  • Working days: Monday to Friday of one week is 5 working days, counting both ends.

Notes on the results

"Days between" does not count the first day, so from today to tomorrow is 1 day. Working days counts both the start and end date, because that is how most leave and project calculations work, but it cannot know about the public holidays where you live, so subtract those yourself. Check any legal or contractual deadline against its own rules, as those can define days differently.

For a live count to one date, use the countdown.

Frequently asked questions

Does it account for leap years?

Yes. All calculations use the real calendar, including February 29.

Are public holidays excluded from working days?

No. Only Saturdays and Sundays are excluded, since holidays vary by country and region.

How is a month counted?

As calendar months. If the target day does not exist in a month, such as January 31 plus one month, the last day of that month is used.
