Your own board of world times

See the current time in the cities that matter to you. Each card shows the local time, date and weekday, the time zone abbreviation, the UTC offset and how far ahead or behind that city is. Cards are tinted for day and night, so you can tell at a glance whether someone is likely to be awake.

How to use the world clock

  1. Search for a city or a country and select a result to add it.
  2. Remove any city you do not need using its X button.
  3. Star your favorites to keep them at the top.
  4. Use Compare with to measure time differences from your location or any city on your board.

Your board is saved in this browser.

Daylight saving is handled automatically

Offsets are never hardcoded here. Each one is looked up from the IANA time zone database built into your browser, for the current moment. When New York moves between UTC−5 and UTC−4, or London between UTC+0 and UTC+1, the board updates by itself. Note that the time difference between two cities can change during the year, because different places change their clocks on different dates or not at all.

Scheduling across time zones

Look for overlapping daytime hours when you plan a call. New York and London usually overlap in the morning New York time, while Tokyo and New York have little overlap in normal working hours. To check a specific future date, use the time zone converter. To learn more, read what UTC time is.

Frequently asked questions

Does the world clock adjust for daylight saving time?

Yes. Offsets come from your browser's time zone database for the current moment, so changes apply automatically.

Why is my city missing?

The search covers major cities. If yours is missing, add a nearby city in the same time zone. The time zone converter also lists every IANA time zone.

Why do some zones show as GMT+7 instead of an abbreviation?

Many regions have no widely used abbreviation for your language, so browsers show the offset instead.
