Online Flip Clock
The look of a classic split-flap clock, right in your browser. Ideal as a fullscreen desk or wall display.
Each digit flips when it changes.
The classic split-flap look
This flip clock recreates the mechanical split-flap clocks of the 1970s, with each digit folding down as it changes. It is drawn entirely with CSS, so it stays smooth without downloading any images or video.
How to use it
- Choose 12-hour or 24-hour time.
- Show or hide the seconds. Hiding them gives a calmer display that flips once a minute.
- Choose a dark or light theme and adjust the size.
- Press Fullscreen. If Keep the screen awake is on in Settings, the display stays on too.
Ideas for using it
- A desk clock on a spare monitor or tablet.
- A display for a shop, reception area or studio.
- A stylish clock on your own site: see embed a clock.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use it as a screensaver?
It works in much the same way. Open it in fullscreen and keep the screen awake. Some systems will still lock the screen under their own security policy.
Does it use a lot of battery?
Very little processing is needed, as digits only animate when they change, though keeping a screen on does use battery. Hiding the seconds reduces the animation further.
Does the animation follow reduced-motion settings?
Yes. If your device asks for reduced motion, the digits change without the flip animation.
